Help with VidTrace for iPhone
Questions, problems or ideas? Email us.
info@sports-stats.orgTo help us sort it quickly, tell us your iPhone model, iOS version and VidTrace version (in the app under More › Version). A screenshot always helps.
Common questions
My new videos aren't showing in the Inbox
- Check Photos access. Go to Settings › Privacy & Security › Photos › VidTrace and choose Full Access. With limited access, VidTrace only sees the videos you picked.
- Check the Inbox filters. Tap the filter chip at the top of the Inbox. The start date, a selected album, or "hide clips under 3 seconds" can hide a video.
- Already sorted? A clip you've kept is in your Library, and a clip you've skipped won't appear again.
Does VidTrace delete or change anything in my Photos?
No. VidTrace never deletes, edits or moves anything in your Photos library. When you keep a clip, the app makes its own copy. When you skip a clip, it stays exactly where it was.
How do I restore my subscription on a new or reinstalled iPhone?
Sign in with the same Apple Account you subscribed with, open VidTrace and tap Restore on the subscription screen, or go to More › Restore purchases.
How do I cancel my subscription or free trial?
On your iPhone, open Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions › VidTrace and tap Cancel. You can also get there from More › Manage subscription in the app. Cancel at least 24 hours before your trial or current period ends to avoid being charged for the next one.
How do I get a refund?
Payments are handled by Apple, so refunds are too. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Will my athletes and notes move to a new iPhone?
Yes, if you move to your new iPhone with an iCloud Backup, a computer backup or Quick Start, your VidTrace data comes with it. VidTrace doesn't sync between devices, so it's worth backing up your iPhone regularly.
How do I delete my data?
You can delete any athlete, group, clip or moment in the app. To remove everything, delete VidTrace from your iPhone. We don't hold a copy of your data, so there's nothing to delete on our side.
Is it OK to film young athletes?
VidTrace keeps everything on your device, but you're responsible for having permission to film. Get consent from a parent or guardian for anyone under 18 and follow your club's or school's safeguarding policy.
